The Art of Expression
23rd Jul - 27th Aug
6pm - 9 pm
A six-week course in camera truth, real emotion, and being seen.
For complete beginners and returning actors alike.
Foundations is where it starts. Over six weeks in the Byron Bay studio you'll learn to relax on camera, reach real emotion, and stop performing so you can start being seen.
It's taught by working screen actor Tim Franklin, who has coached hundreds of actors and helped dozens find representation and book work across film, television and stage.
You don't need experience. You need to be willing to show up and do the work, honest, not acted. Eight to ten spots per intake,
kept small on purpose.
A bit about Tim
Tim Franklin is a working actor with over 15 years across film, television and theatre.
You might know him as Colby Thorne in Home & Away (320 plus episodes). More recently he starred in David Leitch's The Fall Guy alongside Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, the Netflix #1 war epic Before Dawn, and Last King of the Cross opposite Callan Mulvey. Two features, Love Birds and Our Effed Up World, premiere in 2026.
Before starting his own studio, Tim taught at AFTRS, TAFTA and JMC.
He now coaches some of the best in the business, including Jake Ryan, Travis Jeffery, Emily Weir and Sarah Roberts.
Recent wins: Jake Ryan's supporting role in War Machine, and Arlo Amos landing a scene alongside Tom Hanks.
His approach is simple. Make the work honest, not acted.
